2009 pureCru Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

2009 pureCru Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Napa Valley
Composition: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot
Winemaking: Each lot was punched Cap fermented and barrel aged for 36 months in selected French Oak barrels and then blended just a few weeks before bottling.
Tasting notes: Currants with notes of oak, minerals, clove and olive in the nose. On the palette there is fruit flavors of currants, berries and black plums, with a hint of dark chocolate. Balanced and bright, yet supple in the mouth.
Comments: As I have done over the years, my Cabernet Sauvignons tend to be Bordeaux-like blends using more than one variety. For some this may look like a Meritage blend, but it is a Cab that promises to be more versatile for a wider range of cuisine. We have priced this to be an extremely good value in today's world of Napa Cabernets. We elected to pass on the 2008 vintage as it was a year of frosts and freezes in the vineyards odd fruit sets, followed by huge fires in the hills before harvests causing smoke taint that manafested itself some of the wines in some areas. Many '08s seemed more retarded and raw in their evolvement. Then when I started looking at the wonderful developing 2009s, I elected to skip ahead to what I see as a more exciting vintage, at least, for me and my wines.

Wine in perfection. Elegant black fruit aromas, verry nice balanced, soft, very well balanced with a long lasting finish, just to sit back enjoy and dream of more to come. Congratulation Mitch
